Sonia Kashuk Hair Brush

This was purchased on a whim (not uncommon for me). I was at Target looking for something else, and when I saw this I recalled all of the times I read buzz about this being a dupe for the Denman brush (which I don’t have and can’t compare it to). Now, I have naturally curly hair so I don’t use a hair brush (I detangle in the shower with conditioner). My daughter, however, has pin straight hair like her father. Her hair is quite thick like mine, though the strands are a bit fine like her dad’s hair. It seems to be tangle prone (likely due to how thick it is), and I have yet to find a brush she likes. I was hoping this would be the brush for her, and it is!

It has a combination of taller nylon bristles surrounded by short boar bristles. Boar bristles are great for distributing the natural oils on the hair down the shaft to keep it soft, shiny and healthy. The nylon bristles are heat resistant, though I have not used this brush in combination with heat styling. The brush is padded, and the plastic body has an ergonomically designed handle that mimics her line of makeup brushes. It feels light in the hand and is comfortable.

This brush works fantastic on my daughter’s hair. It gets through the tangles without her complaining that I am hurting her scalp. This brush claims not to cause static, and it doesn’t. Her hair doesn’t poof up after brushing, but instead lays flat and sleek. I have even caught her brushing her own hair, which she has never done before. This is the most I have ever paid for a brush, but I really feel like I get my money’s worth out of this one.

The Sonia Kashuk Hair Brush is exclusive to Target, and retails for $17.99 in store and $15.79 at*

I really need to invest in a comb or a brush. I never brush my hair or comb it. lol! I’m just happy mine doesn’t tangle easily. :)

You are lucky your hair doesn’t tangle. As long as I keep my hair healthy I don’t get tangles.
