Sation For Better or Never

For Better or Never

I really don’t understand the name of this polish. Is is part of a collection?

I have heard of Sation because I watch Robin Moses on YouTube and follow her blog, but I never see it sold in stores in my area. I happened to see a few bottles of Sation for the first time ever at my local TJ Maxx for $2.99 per bottle, so I got this one to try out. For Better or Never is a salmon/dusty pink colored jelly with mulit-toned glitter in it. This is one of those polishes that shines in person, but my lack of ability to photograph gleaming glitter really lets it down and makes it seem hum drum. This really is not.

This has a thickish consistency, though I was able to spread it on without uneven gloopiness. I wasn’t able to get very thin coats, but they dried really quick so it wasn’t much of an issue. This is one of those glittery polishes that dries quick and somewhat brittle, if that makes sense. The kind that come off in one chunk after a day or two of wear, if you know what I’m talking about. It dries uneven and bumpy due to the glitter (typical of polishes with lots of glitter, so I am not counting this as a con), so you will need a top coat for durability, shine, and to even out the surface. I needed 3 coats, as this polish really soaked up the top coat.

For Better or Never is not easy to remove due to all the glitter, so you will need to use the foil method to remove it. Overall I really like this polish, and am a bit bummed that I can only find those few polishes at TJ Maxx, and once those are gone who knows if I will find it again. If you know of an online store that sells it without charging an arm and a leg on shipping let me know in the commetns.

My local supply stores sells these, but they’re like.. $2.75 each I think, compared to the older Sation which is $.80 – $1. Although they had the display out for almost a year already, I haven’t purchased any because I do not see much reviews on these newer ones. Thanks for the review though!

      Wow, that’s cheap!

That looks similar to China Glaze Carnival Lights… except for the blue glitter. It’s very pretty!

I don’t think I’ve seen that one yet.

It looks so good on, just such a shame it is so fiddly to apply and a pain to remove. I wish glitter polishes were easier to remove :(

I know, me too. I love the way they look, but I hate the removal lol.

Sation polishes are supposed to be carried at TJ Maxx, but I have yet to see them!

I have only seen them recently, but that is good to know. Maybe I’ll be seeing more shades then.

Sation is an old brand mostly seen in small nail salons. That’s new packaging, it used to be in your run of the mill round glass bottle with a shiny black cap. It never really appealed to me and this is the first bottle I’ve seen in years. It’s on par with Finger Paints for having a so so formula.

Do you know when the new bottles were introduced?

I found that one At Marshall’s recently, too!! I bought about 14 of them. I adore their polish and pick up everyone I can find. They are generally named something unique that coincides with a color collection, so I’m sure you’re on the right track there. The names and complexities of colors are really unique, which is one of the reasons I like them so well.

That’s good to know. I’ll be sure to grab any colors I see that appeal to me.

This color is so cute and perfect. I love the coral, the jelly, the glitter! Have you tried eBay or anything? let us know if you find an online store because I don’t know where to pick up Sation in my area either (podunk Vermont)

I haven’t tried eBay, since after shipping I always feel like I’m not getting any kind of deal. If I find an online site I will let you know!
