October Transformations

My Birchbox* was delayed this month for some reason, but they gave me 100 points to spend in the Birchbox store so I am happy with that. It is like getting this month’s box free! If you don’t know what Birchbox is, it is a paid monthly subscription program that sends you samples once per month. The boxes are selected based on your beauty profile that you fill out with them. Subscription prices depend on the length of your subscription, with a year being the cheapest.

I LOVE my box this month. I do have a few complaints, but overall really felt I got a good value out of it. I got:

  • Beauty Blender – makeup application sponge
  • TheBalm Mary-Lou Manizer – powder highlighter
  • Supergoop! – sunscreen serum
  • Lucy B Roll On Perfume Oil
  • Luna Bar (extra)

First off, super excited to have gotten a Beauty Blender. I plan to test it out as soon as possible. I have quite a few theBalm products and love them, so I am eager to try the highlighter. The other products I just feel meh about. I don’t like getting fragrances (though I am curious as to how a scented oil might perform), I am sensitive to sunscreen and don’t look forward to trying something new (my skin either tolerates it or it is cystic acne city), and I really don’t like Luna bars. I have had a few, and I just don’t care for them. I am honestly not wanting any more food items in the Birchboxes, but it isn’t looking like they are going to stop that any time soon. My final complaint was the Beauty Blender’s lack of packaging. It was just thrown in there. It may not be that big of a deal, but I didn’t like that it had been just rolling around in there.

Do you subscribe to Birchbox*, and did you like your items this month?

Would love to know what you think about the beauty blender when you try it, we saw a similar thing at an event here but didn’t have time to stop by.

I LOVE theBalm’s Mary Lou-Manizer! I have it in The Balmbini Vol. 1 & I liked it so much, I got myself a full-sized one. It kind of reminds me of Virgin from NAKED 1, but more yellow.

Sounds like it will be perfect for me then, as I suit the yellower ones better.

I opted in for the Goop box this month, and it wasn’t too bad to be honest. I liked it all but the Luna bar (ugh). I am glad I opted out though – I wouldn’t have wanted that box, except for the beauty blender.

I think the Beauty Blender has been the one saving grace for a lot of people.
