Maybelline Color Tattoo Eyeshadows
My local stores are so slow to get anything, which is why I was surprised that Walgreens was already sold out of a few shades of the Maybelline limited edition for fall 2012 Tattoo eyeshadows. I was lucky to find the entire line at Rite Aid with all shades in stock, and bought the 4 shades I felt I would use. REALLY love the Color Tattoo eyeshadows (reviewed some of their regular line here), and when I started seeing blogs posting sightings of new shades I knew I needed some. There are some jewel toned shades out too, but I haven’t seen those yet.
These shades are part of their Fashion Week collection, and really are quite lovely and wearable. They are quite safe colors, though you can go bold with them if you like depending on what you pair them with. The formula on these is really nice and creamy. They applied very smooth without gripping the delicate skin around the eyes. Barely Beige had the creamiest texture of all, feeling almost like a whipped mousse.
Audacious Asphalt (edit: from their regular line) has a bit of glitter running through it, but it isn’t big and chunky. To me it appears quite minimal, and if a shadow is worn on top I doubt you would even really notice it. Barely Beige is the perfect name, because it is a very light beige. It is quite shimmery, and is just completely lovely. It really brightens the eye area with an ever so slightly warm tone. Mossy Green is exactly that, a mossy green. It has goldish/copperish shimmer running throughout. Really quite lovely. And finally, Rich Mahogany is a medium rich chocolate brown with goldish/coppery shimmer.
Overall, love these like I love the previous Color Tattoos. If I notice a difference in longevity, creasing, fading, etc. I will update this post. Initial testing is quite positive though.
Maybelline Color Tattoo Eyeshadows retail for approximately $6.49 each (which varies by region and from store to store), and can be found at most major drugstore and mass retailers.
