Archie’s Girls Veronica – Ronnie Red
I fell into the MAC Archie’s Girls frenzy. I didn’t think I would, but darn it if those pearlmattes and blushes and lipsticks didn’t call out to me. Ronnie Red was my most wanted lipstick from the collection. I loved the deeper shades from the Veronica set. Ronnie Red is a blue based strawberry red and has a matte finish. Even though it is matte, I didn’t feel like it looked dry. It had a bit of moistness to the finish, maybe even making a bit of a satin over matte. LOVE matte reds.
The packaging is super cute. On the front of the Veronica lipsticks is of course Veronica, and the same with Betty. Each girl has a heart with Archie’s face in it, though it is on the opposite side of each girl. I love the white packaging too. It is very sleek. The images are printed on, and they look well done. Some previous collections has really pixelated looking images, but these are clean and neat.
Ronnie Red applied smoothly, though not quite as smooth as MAC Cremesheens. It sits comfortably on the lips, and being a matte it doesn’t travel as easy like creamier lipstick formulas. Maybe it is because it is a darker color so it wasn’t as noticeable, but I didn’t notice it grabbing the dry parts of my lips. This has the same vanilla scent and taste that are typical of MAC lipsticks, and part of what makes them enjoyable for me to wear. It looks great alone or paired with Strawberry Malt lipglass from the same collection.
MAC Ronnie Red is limited edition and retails for $16.50. It is currently sold out online, so your best bet is to check your local MAC counter.
