The Temptress’ Power
I posted the swatch on my Instagram yesterday, and here it is! This is a limited edition nail polish as part of the Project Runway collections. The Temptress’ Power is a beautiful multi-chrome. It is a base that looks like a warm terra cotta with reflections of gold and green, and at some angles even seems cool like a silver. Very mutlidimensional!
The formula on this is very thin and very sheer. I didn’t like how sheer it was, because I didn’t buy this with the intention of layering it. I had to do 4 coats to get a good opacity, but even then you could still make out my nail tips. Each layer did dry quick, and I was able to get each layer thin and even without it running or gripping the layer underneath it.
I only wore this for about a day and a half, but in that time did not experience any chipping. Removal was a bit of a pain. The shimmer particles in this didn’t want to come off easily, though that might have been due to having to do 4 coats. I found I had to hold the cotton round of nail polish remover on my nail for a bit (similar to the foil method for removing glitter polish posted on Polish Galore) to get it off. It wasn’t as difficult as glitter polish can be, but it was similar.
Overall I like this polish but don’t love it. The color is unique, so for that reason I am keeping it despite the less than stellar formula.
L’Oreal The Temptress’ Power retails for around $5.99 (depending on your store and area) and can still be found at most major drugstores and retailers (such as Target and Walmart).
