Grape Nail Art
This nail art was actually inspired by a yoda manicure I was trying to pull off (but failed miserably at). As I was looking at this green on my nails and trying to execute the other design, I was also pondering what I wanted to do for nail art for nubs. For some reason the green suddenly made me think of patterns I have seen in stores of grapes on various backgrounds. I thought the green (Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in Lickety-Split Lime) would make a great base shade for a design, and am super happy I chose it.
The grapes, vines, and embellishments were all done with acrylic paints. I even added a touch of gold to the green to add another layer of interest to my design. I gotta say, I was super happy with how this turned out. I would do this design again, and even mix up what colors I put in for a background. I decided to skip using my dotting tool to make the grapes, and am happy I skipped it. I think the hand painted grapes are a lot more pleasing to the eye than the super crisp edges that would have come with using a dotting tool. If you are going to use one, I would try to make the circles look a tad uneven.
Have you ever attempted a similar design? What was your color scheme?
