Dove Nail Art
For Wet n Wild Week I knew I wanted to do nail art, and while I was looking at my stash I Need a Refresh-Mint from their Megalast line jumped out at me as a great spring shade. It is one of my favorite polishes to wear, because it is so light and feminine looking. I got the idea to put doves on, because I thought white would compliment this well. I used touches of gold dots to help fill in some of the space, and even made the wee little beaks gold to coordinate with the dot embellishments. I am happy with how my fat little doves turned out, even though they are not really realistic looking (though lets be real, I am still a beginner and at this point realistic birds are a pipe dream).
The doves were done with a dotting tool and a brush. I used acrylic paint to do the design, using white, black , and gold. I used the dotting tool to map out where I wanted the bodies and heads, and then finished the shape out with a small art brush I got from the craft store. I dotted the eyes with the tip of my brush, because I just think it looks odd when everything is hand painted but they eyes, which are perfectly round. The beaks were also done with the brush.
Do you have this polish, and do you wear it often? Have ever put birds on your nails?
