Lola, how could you? How could you open me up to Dior nail polishes? Gah this is one pretty neutral.
Dior Grege is part of their Nude Collection, and is a permanent addition to their line of nail lacquers. This polish was gifted to me from Lola at Burb Beauty. I haven’t purchased Dior polishes before, though I have tried blushes and eyeshadows. The packaging is just as chic as their blushes and shadows. The cap is removable, and inside is a smaller round handle for the brush applicator. If you have used Chanel polishes this is not something new to you.
The brush and handle are a good size, not too big not too small, and I found it comfortable to hold and easy to use. It has a wide, flat brush (my preferred brush) similar to Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure brushes. I love these brushes, because I make the fewest mistakes with them and it really reduces mani clean up work.
I felt the formula was a bit sheer, and I needed 3 coats to get the opacity I wanted. This might be a problem to some, but to me it makes it more versatile. Since it is a neutral, one sheer coat would work for a french manicure or 3 coats if you want fuller coverage. The color suits my skin tone (the nude collection polishes are supposed to suit all skin tones), and it is a great base color for animal print nails (which I did use it for). This isn’t supposed to be a quick dry polish, but I actually felt that each layer dried rather quickly.
I don’t know about maximum wear time, but in the few days I wore this I didn’t notice any chipping (my top coat is Sally Hansen Salon Manicure). Overall I really like this, and am looking forward to adding a few more colors to my collection.
I blame you Lola.
Dior Grege retails for $23 and can be purchased from Dior and Dior counters.
