Chanel Peridot

Chanel Peridot

I know. This is old news. I thought I had reviewed Chanel Peridot long ago when I purchased it during its Fall 2011 release, but as I was getting ready to do my comparison between OPI Just Spotted the Lizard and Peridot I found out I had no review to link to. I occasionally forget to review items, and luckily this is not something that is no longer available.

This was my first Chanel polish purchase, so a few things I want to note about the packaging. The square lid is removable. You take it off, and inside is a much smaller cap that has the brush attached to it. I kind if wish the smaller cap was a touch bigger, as I find it a wee bit awkward when painting my nails. It is not too difficult to use that it deters me from buying more, just that it feels slightly strange to use it.

When Peridot hit the scene there was a lot of buzz about it, and rightly so. It is stunning, and at the time of its release there was no other color like it (many wannabes have hit the market since then). It is a bronzey, green and gold with a hint of blue shimmery/metallic multichrome polish.

This formula for this is around a medium consistency, not being too thick or too thin. Each layer spread and applied evenly. The fine metallic finish did leave faint brush strokes, so you do need to be careful when applying this. It has good pigmentation, and only needed 2 coats of polish to reach full opacity.

Chanel Peridot retails for $25 and is available wherever Chanel cosmetics are sold.

I associate old news to unqiue, cos not the many pay attention as focus is shifted to what’s new in the market, but interestingly enough you will have people pass comments such as “Oh I love the shade”

I love the shade and its light effect.
