Buxom White Russian
I don’t know why I am drawn to nudes, but I am. I bought this on a whim at Sephora based solely on the color. It wasn’t until the first time I used it that I realized I had purchased a lip plumping gloss. My lips started tingling and feeling all mentholated right after putting it on. I don’t buy plumping glosses, because they don’t work for me and I don’t care for the tingling. This one tingled my lips for over 2 hours, and just like other glosses it did not plump my lips.
It is, however, a very pretty gloss. It is a milky, dusty rose pink. It has a very pleasing vanilla scent and taste. Vanilla is my favorite flavor for glosses, so it gets two thumbs up from me. The formula on this is a bit sticky, and while I don’t like sticky glosses the level of stickiness in this gloss doesn’t bother me. It is kind of light on coverage, and while I can use it alone it does verge on making my lips look a bit too light. It looks lovely over lip liner and lipsticks.
I get about 3 hours of wear time on this, which for me is pretty typical of non-longwearing glosses. The packaging is very cute, although a tad on the big side. I think this might be intentional, as the product is supposed to make your lips bigger so it has a bigger tube. I could be wrong, but I get the impression that was the intention behind the packaging. Overall I like this gloss, even though I really don’t care for the tingling. Those of you who are into plumping glosses likely won’t care about the tingle though.
Buxom White Russian retails for $19 and be found at Bare Escentuals stores and Sephora.
