Bluey
Gaaaahhh!! I love this shade. It is even prettier in person than I expected. I hadn’t tried Butter London before, but got the opportunity through Coterie* recently (Coterie is a flash sale site similar to Hautelook*). Butter London describes this polish as “A slightly metallic, dark peacock blue nail lacquer that’s perfect for fashionable birds.” I would personally describe this as a shimmer with microglitter, though the peacock blue part is spot on. It is quite blue, but with a slight tingle of teal to make it feel more peacocky. It looks quite dark in the bottle, but isn’t quite so dark when applied.
The bottle for this is quite chic looking, though for my hands it does feel a bit bulky. The lid lifts off, and inside is a brush with a very manageable handle. This has a small, round brush, which isn’t my preference but I did alright with it. I would prefer a flat, slightly wider brush. I had to do more passes than I like to coat my nails.
The consistency of Bluey is thin and sheer. I needed 3 coats for full opacity, though each coat applied easily and dried quickly. It ends up looking a touch lighter on the nails then in the bottle. That is OK with me, though some might be disappointed by that. I don’t know about maximum wear time, as I change my polish colors often and don’t wear any shade more than 2 days.
Butter London Bluey retails for $14, and can be found wherever Butter London is sold and from the Butter London web site.

I just got my Coterie order for the three Butter Londons (+ the fast dry topcoat) and I almost put Bluey on (opted for a different style using Knackered and West End Wonderland). Thanks for showing this one in a mani because it’s so cool in the bottle. I love how it looks.

I am kinda wishing I had gotten the long wear top coat. Does the fast dry top coat cause shrinkage?
NEWP. It works really nicely. I even put two coats on (thank you, glitter) and saw no problems. No cracking either (some QD can make the polish frail).

I think I will too. I really want that top coat.
Pretty! I got this too and was afraid it’d look too similar to other shades, but now I think it’s more unique..yay! about to apply west end wonderland now.

VERY peacock-y, Leticia! I’m not normally one for these shades, but it looks really really great on you! I might even give it a chance myself ;)
