I have been sitting on this polish for awhile. It came out with The Mythicals collection months ago (maybe even a year?). The recent issues with the mail in the UK made this polish come back on my radar. Not being able to buy something suddenly makes me want to buy, and now all I can think about is A England polishes. I don’t know how soon or if the issues with shipping polishes are cleared up, but if you follow the A England Facebook page they are keeping their customers informed about shipping.
Tristam is a scattered holo in a navy polish base. Quite frankly the holo effect isn’t that strong, and while it is technically a holo I myself wouldn’t label it as such. To me it looks more like a micro glitter than holo. Don’t get me wrong, it is quite lovely, but in my opinion a holo it is not. It takes some pretty strong light for it to resemble a holo and not silver glitter specks.
The formula for this is about a medium consistency. I was able to paint layers without it being runny or glooping up. I would say this is a 2 coater polish. The first layer definitely seemed lacking, but it sprang to life once I applied the second. I don’t know about maximum wear time, as I change my polishes very frequently. I didn’t experience any premature chipping, however.
Despite this not being what I consider a true holo, it is still one of my most liked polishes. I love blues, and this one is very flattering against my skin. It feels very elegant on the nails.
The cost is £9.00 and I forget what that worked out to in US dollars, but you can use a converter online to see the most current exchange rate. I bought mine directly from A England.
